January 19, Washington, D.C: I really cannot describe the mood in the nation's capital right now. It feels pretty much like a lovefest. I helped little old women climb up onto 5 foot high stone walls to get choice pics of themselves in front of the capital. Everyone other person is wearing some sort of Obamagear, no doubt purchased from an enterprising and opportunistic street vendor. There isn't a single person who doesn't seem completely overjoyed by this week's transition. I was alone the moment Obama was elected. It was a huge moment for me, but I regretted the choice to be alone. I really wanted to experience tomorrow with a group of ecstatic Americans. Tomorrow, I don't think there will be a happier group on the planet than those packed into the National Mall to hear Obama take the oath of office.
