Even with all the possible distractions, it does feel much easier to stay focused when I'm up close. There is a lot of power in the seduction of the distance. At least for the part of me that wants to remain commitment-phobic. Being half-in just hasn't worked. And not for lack of trying on my part. Lots of times.
