December 1, London, UK: Not long ago, someone was describing his rationale for beginning marathon training at a time when he was going through a period of significant personal growth. It was the best explanation I'd ever heard. He said that the training was a perfect metaphor for the mindset he needed to maintain during his personal development. He needed to apply steady effort over a long period of time. He had to begin wherever he was; there were no shortcuts to being ready. Prioritization and dedication would be required. And injuries and setbacks were inevitable.
Today was definitely an injury day for me. I'll bounce back.
