October 7, San Mateo, CA: Peripatetic is one of my favorite words. It means "itinerant" or "meandering" and applies to today, at least emotionally. My feelings were all over the place. Happy, sad, satisfied, appreciative, regretful, to name a few. I guess volatile might be a better description. Watching the presidential debate actually lightened my mood. Hearing about a mother's battle with cancer helped me appreciate the absolute luxury of quiet time for personal reflection (among many other luxuries I enjoy), regardless of how my emotions thrash around.
